Originally uploaded by sicardfm At the time, I only had my Canon A710, but still managed to get this pretty cool shot of an elephant really close up. The NC Zoo is more like a giant nature preserve, very wide open spaces, and MILES of trails. We were exhausted by the end of the day! I'm hoping to go back again this fall, once the heat and humidity subside.

Great elephant picture! It looks like it is posing for you. I like the way it fills up the whole frame. It is a big animal after all.
ReplyDeleteWe have elephants at the Roger Williams Zoo, but they were always being washed or fed or something. I wanted to tell the zoo staff to get out of the way and let them run around.
Maybe one of these years we can all go to the zoo down here. It's really more of a nature preserve than a zoo. Definitely have to bring your walking shoes, and it's about an hour away, but totally worth it. We're going to try to take the kids next month, because Jen and Lauren can get free admission (one of the perks of being veterinarians, I guess).
